ORANGE PARK, FL — Women of Asphalt (WofA) is excited to announce the appointment of 11 women to serve as its first Board of Directors. These accomplished women come from all facets of the asphalt industry and represent the wide range of positions and responsibilities women hold in the asphalt industry.

Amy Miller, P.E., President, National Director of the Asphalt Pavement Alliance — Amy is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. She is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Florida. Immediately out of college she worked as a civil engineer eventually transitioning to a sales engineer role then onto a key account manager position. Amy is a founding member of WofA.
Audrey Copeland, Ph.D., P.E., Secretary, President & CEO of the National Asphalt Pavement Association — Audrey earned her Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt and her Master and Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. She is a registered engineer in Virginia and Maryland. She began her career as a highway engineer at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and then went on to be a highway materials research engineer at FHWA’s Turner–Fairbank Highway Research Center where she managed asphalt-related research laboratories and projects. Audrey is a founding member of WofA.
Natasha Ozybko, Treasurer, Sales Manager for Arkema-Road Science — Natasha graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She has made a career in sales and marketing and joined the asphalt industry in 2012. She currently leads the team responsible for sales covering the Western half of the United States. Natasha is a founding member of WofA.
Sheila Barkevich, Senior Vice President for Callanan Industries Inc., a CRH Co. — Sheila graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and immediately went to work for Callanan Industries Inc., a CRH Co. She has spent her career in various roles at Callanan and while there earned her Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany. Sheila has participated on the National Center for Asphalt Technology at Auburn University and the Northeast Asphalt User/Producer Group steering committees and was co-chair of the New York State Asphalt Pavement Association technical committee for several years.
Janelle Barrientos, Asphalt Distributions Manager for Flint Hills Resources LLC — Janelle graduated from Newman University with a degree in Business Administration. Over her 31-year career, Janelle has always had roles within transportation and logistics She began her journey with Koch Industries in 1988, and recently joined Flint Hills Resources as the Asphalt Distribution Manager.
Ashley Batson, J.D., Executive Director of the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association — Ashley joined the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association as Executive Director in January 2011. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Charleston School of Law in 2007 after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Spanish from Clemson University. Ashley began her career as a federal judicial law clerk and then worked in private practice before transitioning to government relations and association management. Ashley is a founding member of WofA.
Debbie Novak, Sales Representative for Missouri Petroleum Products Co. LLC — Debbie started her career with Lionmark Construction Cos. in September 1995 as a receptionist. She later moved into its accounting department where she was responsible for accounts payable then on to inventory management. In 2017 Debbie took a role with Missouri Petroleum (a Lionmark subsidiary) as a sales representative tasked with the sale of various asphalt-emulsified products. Debbie is a member of American Public Works Association Missouri Chapter and is involved with other organizations, including Associated General Contractors of Missouri, SITE Improvement Association, and the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association.
Kirsten Pauley, P.E., Executive of Director of the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana — Kirsten graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. She is a licensed professional engineer in Indiana. She began her career with Rieth-Riley Construction Co. Inc. where she had various roles in its asphalt operations, including estimating, asphalt quality control, and project oversight in the field. She then worked for consulting engineering firm Shrewsberry & Associates in transportation design. Kirsten joined the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana in 2016 as Technical Director and became its Executive Director in 2019.
Judy Pellicano, Vice President of Assets for Colas USA — Judy earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Management Systems Engineering from Penn State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from Millersville University. Judy began her career in transportation with United Parcel Services, advancing through progressively larger roles with increasing responsibility within the transportation industry. In 2013, Judy crossed over into the construction industry where she remains today. Judy spent approximately half of her career in operations, with the remainder in consultative roles.
Tracie Schlich, Director of Marketing and Membership for the Asphalt Institute — Tracie graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She has been a marketer all her life from retail management to Vice President of Account Services at a regional marketing firm where she led the account service team and directed marketing for a thoroughbred sales company and racecourse. She has been the Director of Marketing and Membership for the Asphalt Institute since 2012. Tracie is a founding member of WofA.
Kari Shiflett, Director of Human Resources for Lakeside Industries Inc. — Kari graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and she also holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from Northcentral University. After graduating from Washington State University, Kari joined a large manufacturing company where she grew her career as a human resources professional and held various leadership positions that gave her exposure to a wide variety business challenges and solutions. Recently, Kari joined Lakeside Industries as the Director of Human Resources where she has responsibility for leading all aspects of HR for the company.
