AGC NYS staff has been closing monitoring the evolving restrictions (and easing of the same in some regions) on facilities necessary for our upcoming events, as well as guidance and restrictions on large gatherings. We have been in regular communication with our event venues as well.
Turning Stone Resort Casino is still operating under significant restrictions that would make hosting an event the size of the AGC NYS Anthony S. Santaro Golf Classic in June impractical at best, if not impossible. As a result, they have recommended and we have agreed that we regroup to our alternate date, September 2. We will continue to closely monitor governmental policies that may impact the ability to conduct the event then, but we are hopeful we will be able to do so, even if modifications to our traditional event are necessary.
The Sagamore, site of our Summer Meeting, has advised us that at present they are hopeful they will be able to host a group of up to 100 in August, based on governmental restrictions. Clearly, that is not compatible with the needs of the AGC NYS Summer Meeting, and the uncertainty around the conditions under which they will be allowed to operate makes planning for our meeting impossible. As a result, we have regrettably made the decision to cancel this year’s Summer Meeting. We look forward to returning to the Sagamore on 2021, from August 5-7.
We continue to monitor how other upcoming events may be impacted as this situation develops and will keep our membership informed.
