NSSGA Safety Excellence Awards announced to leaders in the aggregates industry

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) recently announced the recipients of the Awards of Safety Excellence.  The NSSGA Safety Excellence Awards recognize operations that maintain a safe workplace, evidenced by its safety performance over a consecutive period without an MSHA-reportable injury.

“There is nothing more important for aggregates operations than ensuring that each worker goes home safely at the end of each day,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael W. Johnson.  “NSSGA’s Safety Excellence Awards recognize the significant efforts our member companies take to ensure the safety of our most precious resource – our employees. Congratulations to these leaders in workplace safety.”

NSSGA’s Safety Excellence Awards will be presented to Gold and Silver operations during the Legislative & Policy Forum, Nov. 18-20.

Sterling Safety Award Winners

Additionally, NSSGA recognizes companies that have the lowest total accident incidence rate for the previous year in their category among NSSGA members with the Sterling Safety Award. Created in 1994, the awards are presented to companies that achieve the lowest injury incidence rate for the previous calendar year (2018) in their size category. Data on which the award is based is provided by MSHA.
