To: Northeast Chapter IECA Members
From: Pete Hanrahan, CPESC
Last month at the IECA Annual Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina, a group of chapter members met to discuss ways to revive the chapter. The meeting was organized by former Chapter President Randy Shuey and was well attended with tremendous support to rebuild the chapter. IECA Executive Director Samantha Roe and IECA Board of Directors President Adam Dibble also joined the meeting offering important input and pledging full support from IECA global to assist our rebuilding efforts. At the meeting I offered to serve as temporary executive director during this period of revival.
I am writing to ask for your help in getting the chapter up and running again. Our chapter has not held elections or annual meetings in 2018 or 2019. As a result, there are openings for most state representatives on the chapter’s board of directors and officers. Seven individuals who attended the Raleigh meeting have already volunteered to help, which is a great start. But, I want to reach out to all our regional contacts to get involved again as a member, board or committee member, or in any other way. I hope you consider joining IECA to support the chapter, as well joining us to have a direct say in how this chapter can support you in your career.
Our first order of business is to rebuild our Board of Directors. With this behind us we can go to work on developing meaningful networking, educational programsand more.
If you are interested in serving on the board or committee or would like to help in any way, please contact me at email@example.com or (207) 576-9215. I would ask that you respond no later than March 11, 2020.
