ORWOOD, MA – GZA, a leading multi-disciplinary firm providing geotechnical, environmental, ecological, water, and construction management services, is pleased to announce that Enda Fahey has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer, effective September 10, 2018.
Mr. Fahey joined GZA as Corporate Controller in 2014 and served as Acting Chief Financial Officer from March 9, 2018 to September 9, 2018 following the retirement of GZA’s previous CFO, Dan Breuer.
Prior to GZA, Mr. Fahey was the controller at a number of private equity-backed companies for a total of five years and the controller of a Fortune 500 subsidiary company for four years. In total, his controller experience has spanned 13 years and his post-college experience has been twenty years.
At GZA, his responsibilities as controller entailed management of the finance staff and personal responsibility for project accounting and payroll systems management; financial, overhead and 401k audit control; taxes; registrations; fixed asset accounting; month and year-end closing tasks; treasury functions; and collection activities.
Enda is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Illinois and is also a Chartered Accountant (CA), the international version of a CPA.
GZA CEO William Hadge said in announcing Fahey’s promotion: “We were hoping Enda would demonstrate during his tenure as acting CFO that he could be our next full-time CFO, and he hit it out of the park. He has a very strong grasp of the financial priorities for GZA and has already made great strides in further integrating our Finance Department with our operations, providing them outstanding support.”
He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway.
