Governor Andrew Cuomo delivered his 2021 State of the State with an agenda of reimagining, rebuilding, and renewing New York State. The Governor’s agenda features a suite of initiatives to not only begin reopening New York, but also investing billions into infrastructure improvements.
AGC NYS is ready to meet Governor Cuomo’s challenge to ‘Build Back Better,’ a vision echoed by President-elect Biden. That means building both transformational, signature projects as well as core infrastructure like roads, bridges, schools, social and environmental infrastructure across the entire State and tackling impediments to private sector investment and growth in New York.
At the same time, action by President-Elect Biden, incoming U.S. Senate Majority Leader Schumer, and the New York State Congressional Delegation is essential to the realization of Governor Cuomo’s aggressive infrastructure plan and the recovery of our economy.
AGC NYS looks forward to learning more details about these specific plans and funding levels for key capital programs in the FY22 Executive Budget and engage the New York State Senate and Assembly on key construction priorities.
