DUO and Terex make for a winning team

by Jon M. Casey
As a long standing distributor for both Terex and Powerscreen products, DUO has extensive product and application knowledge. This benefits clients in several ways. From the design of the system, the installation and commissioning to the after sales support, this blend of experience and quality products together with DUO’s ‘the customer comes first’ attitude, makes them the dependable, successful company they are today.
Luke Talbot, international sales manager for DUO, said, “We were delighted when Readymix selected DUO as their preferred supplier for the washplant. This reinforces the success of our previous projects installed in this market and shows the strength of our reputation in the region. The new plant has been very well received and will certainly add a new dimension and increased efficiency to their overall production.”
Readymix’s Ravi Singh noted, “DUO did not just sell us a plant, they thoroughly investigated the material that we wanted to process. The decision making process was aided through visiting other sites and quarries to see similar plant setup as well as a visit to the TWS factory in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. This was an invaluable trip as we could clearly see that TWS was very focused on quality, performance and was particularly organized and professional in their approach.”
DUO supplied a comprehensive set of civil engineering drawings that allowed for site work to be carried out well in advance of the plant arriving on site. The AutoCAD and 3D drawings pinpointed where each piece of equipment would sit on the concrete plinth. The drawings also showed details for electrical conduits, fresh water supply and dirty water disposal.
“The installation was very fast and efficient, which we were pleasantly surprised about, considering the complexity of the plant,” said Singh. “It was delivered and installed in a very short time frame, which ultimately reduced the overall costs.”
Following a recent trip to the Trinidad site, Fergal McPhillips, sales manager TWS, said, “The plant is effectively addressing Readymix’s problems. It is achieving excellent results. By being much more efficient while generating outstanding commercial output, it helps them deal with the demands of the construction market.”
Sean Loughran, director of TWS also noted, “The Trinidad sand and gravel washplant is a demonstration of yet another complex plant offered by DUO and TWS. It operates at 200tph and is much more efficient than Readymix’s previous plant. Ultimately, it produces a more desirable product.”
“DUO’s specialist team of engineers, applications and technicians, offer after-sales support as well,” he went on to say. “From its initial conception through to final commissioning, our engineering team was there to support them.”
