The AGC Project Manager/Engineer Program will begin in Albany on October 10-11 and the AGC Future Construction Leaders Program will start its 21st new class on December 11 at the Construction Industry Conference in Saratoga Springs. The AGC PM Program is targeted to newer Project Managers and Engineers and to those you are looking to move into Project Management. The five, 2-day sessions will cover Leadership, Estimating and Job Costing, Project Administration, Contract Administration and Risk Management.
The AGC NYS Future Construction Leaders Program is geared for project managers and general superintendents who have been in the industry for at least 5 years and have some project experience under their belts. This program moves beyond just managing your projects and introduces attendees to the issues that affect the company’s overall bottom line. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn, in a structured environment, what they might otherwise spend years learning from personal experience. Topics cover: Introduction to AGC of NYS, AGC of America and other industry associations, Design, subcontracting, and other intra-industry issues, Business management issues, Employer and labor relations issues, Bonding and insurance, Project Delivery Systems , Dispute resolution options, Work Compensation and Risk Management, Marketing & Business Development and the basics of NYS government, state contracting agencies, bidding procedures, legislative issues.
