John Schivito’s success with his A-JON recycling business has come in part to his choices of crushing and screening equipment. By developing a sound working relationship with Stephen Lavery of Commonwealth Equipment of Ashley, PA, Schivito has found that McCloskey equipment performs at the highest level with service after the sale to match. With his purchase of a McCloskey 512 trommel when he first started his recycling operation at the current location, to the most recent addition of the McCloskey J45R tracked portable jaw crusher, Schivito is extremely pleased with the reliability and production rates of McCloskey equipment.
Lavery said that he had been calling upon A-JON back when Schivito was only doing concrete and asphalt recycling at his ready mix plant a few miles from the recycling center. During one of his sales calls, when Schivito was considering the idea of expanding his operation, Lavery suggested he might consider the McCloskey 512 trommel for screening his material, and as they say, “the rest is history.” Since that time, A-JON has grown. Along the way, the expansion of the recycling business has come to include mulch, concrete and asphalt recycling and topsoil production as well.
Over time, in order to accomplish all of these recycling segments at one location, in addition to the 512 trommel, A-JON has acquired an I-44R tracked impactor to recycle asphalt and concrete, an R-155 screener for topsoil, a 621 RET trommel for screening mulch and most recently, the J45R tracked crusher for recycling concrete. Complementing these pieces, A-JON also uses two tracked stackers at various locations around the site as needed and two wheel stackers that receive crushed and screened material from the J45R. In all, the A-JON mulch and topsoil operation is a compact and highly productive facility with a “green future!”
